I love a good superhero story and I think I may have just discovered my new favourite band of evil-defeating heroes. Move over Avengers, Incredibles and Supertato, the Zooperheroes are in town.
The Zooperheroes do what they can to keep Zoopertown safe. No job is too big or too small and and it is time for their most important mission yet. All the food in Zoopertown has disappeared, including Mayor Go-Go Gorilla’s birthday picnic and his extra-crummy giant banana birthday cake. It’s Zoom-Zoom Zebra, Zip-Zap Giraffe, Crash-Bang Koala, Snap-Crack Croc and X-Ray Rabbit to the rescue but can they solve the the mystery of the missing munchies…
Little superheroes are going to love this new series of high-octane and action-packed adventures starring the awesome Zooperheroes of Zoopertown. With their own special zooperpowers, the five energetic animals must work together to solve a problem and in this first book it is Rabbit’s x-ray vision that is required to get the better of a badly-behaving baboon to save the day.
Full of humour and adventure, the typical villain up to no good, heroes required to save the day narrative is brilliantly told with plenty of clever wordplay, onomatopoeia and punchy lines ensuring children will be enthusiastically shouting out, ‘KABOOM and KER-RASH.’ Placing children into the heart of the action of this delightful read are colourful illustrations that fizz with excitement and energy and will have readers racing through the pages quicker than Crash-Bang Koala can deliver a kung-fu high-kick.
I cannot wait for the next adventure with the Zooperheroes. I wonder which zooperpower will be needed to save the day? Personally, I’d like to see Zip-Zap Giraffe’s super-blasting, light-up laser power. With huge thanks to Bloomsbury for the copy I received in exchange for an honest review. Recommended for 3+.
