Christmas preparations put friendship to the test in highly amusing read. Bear has arrived home with a Christmas tree and Mouse is very excited to help decorate it. There’s only one problem, Bear and Mouse have very different ideas when it comes to what should actually go on the tree. Bear likes dazzlingly bight lights whilst Mouse prefers gigantic baubles. Is a manatee on top the finishing touch? Could an upside down tree be the answer? With Christmas heading towards catastrophe, can a compromise be found… Ah Christmas, the time of goodwill, friendship, kindness and…disagreements. Now, this is why I always decorate the tree by myself; no one to comment on the tinsel-work, admonish the bauble hanging or criticise the choice of curious animal on top. No needling (couldn't resist) whatsoever. We Disagree About this Tree is tree-mendously funny with a valuable lesson around compromise that is perfect for this time of year when things can all become a bit ‘me, myself and I.’ Instantly appealing, faces will light up at the bold and colourful expression-filled artwork whilst the bouncy rhyming text is begging to be read aloud. The antics will have little ones in fits of giggles as Bear and Mouse proudly admire their work much to the frustration and sheer exasperation of the other. Did Bear actually light the candles on the tree? Is there ever such a thing as too much tinsel? A surprising and feel-good ending is the icing on the Christmas cake! Pitched at little ones but big kids will enjoy it too and will smile knowingly, especially if they have siblings. Would make for a very good PSHE lesson in the run up to Christmas. Nothing to disagree about here, this is festive fun of the best kind!
