Grandads assemble in this joyful picture book that is perfect for grandparent and grandchild to share together and bond over.
Grandads are awesome but no two are quite the same. Some are tall, others are small. Some wear glasses, some walk with a stick. Some are bald, some have fancy beards. They bake and build, explore and invent, cut hair and perform magic. They have tales to tell, stories to share and endless love to give. Grandads surely are great and one thing is for sure, your grandad is like no other…
Shout out to the grandads! Grandparents enrich lives in so many ways and this wonderfully inclusive and diverse read celebrates grandad’s in all their forms. Told in bubbly rhyming prose - perfect for reading aloud - and with energetic illustrations full of warmth and happiness, it is a glorious ode to grandads everywhere and the joy they bring to the precious time spent with them.
Love, fun and the one-of-a-kind relationship that exists between generations jumps off every page as various children and their grandads get up to all sorts of wonderful things together. Each grandad gets a double page and with so many different ones there is a good chance that there’ll be one that is similar to yours. My personal favourite is the explorer grandad who takes his granddaughter on wild adventures - he has travelled everywhere and once they spotted a grizzly bear!
Time with grandad is special and children will be encouraged to reflect on what they do with theirs, the special moments they have and the memories that they make. Sadly my grandads are no longer around but I have many fond memories of playing snooker, talking all things football and laughing a lot with both of mine.
A lovely read that is the perfect gift for Father’s (Grandfather’s) Day or any day when you want to let a grandad know just how great they are! Recommended for 3+. With huge thanks to Bloomsbury for the copy I received in exchange for an honest review.
