I loved my first encounter with Friendly Bee and Angry Wasp so was thrilled when the latest title dropped through my letterbox. Friendly Bee is buzzing more than usual. Enormous Hairy Spider is having a dress-up party and it is going to be the most epic, buggy bash ever. There’ll be snacks, games, fancy dresses and good times galore. Bee cannot wait for it. Angry Wasp is less excited and is definitely not going in a dress. And Pessimistic Earthworm is just completely miserable about everything. Getting everyone in the party spirt isn’t going to be easy but Friendly Bee is determined to make sure no-one is a party pooper… The unlikeliest of B(ee)FF’s are back for another adventure that is packed with LOLs, filled with friendship (much to the annoyance of Angry Wasp), bursting with banter, wit and sarcasm, and even has some helpful and important messages around tolerance, accepting differences and embracing others. Sean delivers another un-bee-lievably funny insect caper in a series that is up there with the best of them when it comes to mismatched characters trying to navigate the pros and pitfalls of friendship. Insects bursting with personality, unpredictable antics and hilarious hijinks, and a brilliantly written mix of deadpan humour, witty quips, sharp one liners and entertaining conversations will have readers in fits of joyous giggles.
Featuring bee-rilliant black and yellow artwork throughout and interspersed with facts delivered by Clever Cricket, this cracking graphic novel series will continue to create a buzz among primary aged children. Recommended for 6+. With huge thanks to Walker for the copy I received in exchange for an honest review.
