The Terrible Plop is a lively and funny tale about a group of animals who flee for safety after hearing an unfamiliar sound in their woodland home.
A group of rabbits are enjoying a yummy picnic down by the lake underneath the shade of a tree when all of a sudden there is a ‘terrible PLOP’. The startled rabbits leave the picnic and with a ‘HOP HOP HOP’ they run away. On their dash to safety they encounter several more animals who join them on their escape from the ‘terrible PLOP’. But when they meet a stubborn bear who refuses to run away, one little rabbit finds itself stuck between here and there, stuck between the big, brown bear and the ‘terrible PLOP’.
Told in rhyming verse and with entertaining illustrations by Andrew Joyner, The Terrible Plop is a great read-a-loud. The book is great for teaching young children that some things are not as scary as they seem.
