In the depths of the forest four hunters have a plan…a plan to catch a little bird. The only problem is the bird seems to be smarter than the hunters. And when the littlest hunter has an idea, well it attracts too much attention and the hunters find themselves being hunted…
This is a laugh-out-loud, atmospheric story that captures how the best paid laid plans can so easily go wrong. The repetitive text makes it ideal for new readers.
What stands out for me are the illustrations. The woods are gloomy, the bird is bright (both in colour and in outsmarting the inept hunters), and there is something very endearing about the hunters and their fear of the dark.
