I am a huge fan of the Professor Astro Cat books for young readers that explore science and scientific concepts. And this is another title in the series that I highly recommend.
Join Professor Astro Cat and his stargazing companions, Felicity and Astro Mouse, for an intergalactic adventure to learn all about those twinkling jewels in the night sky…stars. The stargazing team take readers on an intergalactic journey into space to discover what stars are, their lifecycle and what you can see when you look up at the night sky and galaxies. There’s even time to have a quick look at the Hubble Space Telescope, drop into an observatory and to contemplate what we know and how much we are yet to discover. Who knows, you may be a future space explorer that uncovers more secrets of the Universe.
As with all the Professor Astro Cat books, this one is delightfully presented and is perfectly pitched to its target audience. Big ideas and concepts are broken down and explained simply in short chunks of text or through speech bubbles. Ben Mantle’s artwork is big and bold and brings concepts and ideas to life.
Full of star-mazing facts, this is a superb introduction to stars and essential reading for future astrologers, astronomers and scientists.
