An adorable tale about two squirrels and their nuts. Will they ever learn to share?

Nuts is a simple tale about two squirrels who both stumble across the same nuts. But both the squirrels think the nuts are theirs and it doesn’t matter who shouts loudest they can’t agree. Can their woodland friends teach the quarrelsome squirrels how to share?

The read will be relatable to many children as they see themselves portrayed by the squirrels. The situation the squirrels face perfectly captures a situation that young children will find themselves in; the desire to have all of something, the arguing, the feeling of different emotions - anger, frustration, satisfaction.

The text in the book is rather limited so it is the pictures that tell the story and this will not appeal to all readers. With the read largely relying on the pictures it is up to the reader to use their imagination and creativity to tell the story themselves. The illustrations are charming and have lots of detail for readers to use.

A good book for teaching young children about sharing and about different emotions.
