When Narwhal meets a jellyfish in the sea neither is sure if the other is real. Jellyfish looks nothing like a fish although it does look a lot like a jelly and Narwhal has a big horn on its head. Maybe they’re both imagining each other? After establishing that they are both real a beautiful underwear friendship blossoms and they head off on amazing adventures.
The book is made up of three mini stories. The first story sees the two friends meet and much hilarity ensues. In the second adventure, Narwhal has discovered that he should be traveling in a pod so sets off in search of other sea-creatures to join his pod all the while forgetting about Jellyfish! The third story sees Narwhal reading his favourite book but Jellyfish is amazed to see that the pages are blank. This is no ordinary book, it is ‘an imagination book’ and Jellyfish discovers the beauty of imagining.
Presented as a comic strip, the book is a wacky and wonderful read about the tales of two underwater friends. The book also includes interesting facts and information about the two creatures and there is even a Narwhal Song…”I am a Narwhal! A happy little Narwhal!…”
The illustrations are simple and are mostly shades of blue and yellow. Don’t be deceived by the lack of colour - the illustrations are packed full of humour, charm and character emotion.
A very funny read which includes messages on friendship and the power of imagination. It is sure to be a hit with young readers.
