We all know that teachers are superheroes, right? And the newest arrival to Ella Mentry Primary School is all kinds of super, at least that what he thinks.

Mr. Granite has been teaching at Ella Mentry school for like forever. But the time has come for him to leave and his replacement is the masked-wearing, caped crusader, Mr. Cooper, aka Cooper Man. The Cooper Man dresses up as Lava Man when he teaches about volcanoes, Weather Man when he teaches about meteorology and Electric Man when he teaches about electricity. There seems to be no end to his superhero teaching talents. But when the school needs an actual super hero, is Cooper Man up to the task…

Mr. Cooper is Super is the first in the ‘My Weirdest School’ series which will appeal to young readers who are after a relatively short story that is very weird, very silly and very funny. Dan Gutman knows his target audience and readers will enjoy the series of stories about likeable kids where anything is possible. There are surprises aplenty and lots of laugh-out-loud moments to keep even the most reluctant of readers turning the pages. The story is accompanied by cartoon style illustrations

Younger children will enjoy having this story read to them whilst children of 7+ should be fine reading independently.

Recommended for 6+.
