The first book in the My Weirder-est School series and Dr. Snow is causing mischief at the Ella Mentry school science fair.

The STEM scores at Ella Mentry School are bad, like really bad. In an effort to improve things, science teacher, Mr. Docker, has called in the services of his old friend and world-famous scientist, Dr. Melvin Snow (aka Snowman). All the children are excited when the Snowman announces a science fair. Dr. Snow is meant to be there to help the children but is the mad scientist really interested in kids science experiments or is he like all mad professors, trying to take over the world…

A funny read with plenty of jokes, puns and wordplay that that will amuse readers in lower middle grade. Dan Gutman makes science cool as the kids and the Snowman conduct their own wild and wonderful experiments exploring centripetal force and gravity to the effects of combining soda and mentos (FYI - it will make a very large soda fountain). Readers will find relatable school issues and familiar situations that are experienced by a diverse range of characters. The illustrations depict children of different genders and ethnicities all having plenty of fun learning about science.
