Little People, Big Dreams: Steve Jobs; Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, illustrated by Aura Lewis21/9/2020
Apple technology is everywhere but there was a time when it wasn’t. It was the dream of a young entrepreneur sat at home in his garage, that entrepreneur was Steve Jobs.
Born in San Francisco, Steve Jobs was adopted as a baby. He was an inquisitive child who wanted to know how things worked and understood from an early age that you should do what you are passionate about. It was at an electronics club that he would be introduced to the computer and this would see him create a company and technology that would revolutionise the world. It is hard to imagine that the geeky Jobs who dropped out of college would be the man to change the tech world. Driven by his ethos to think differently and be creative, he wanted his designs and products to make life easier for everyone, it is safe to say…mission accomplished. Delightfully illustrated with bright and bold artwork and with a story told in short and simple sentences, this is an inspirational read and proof that you should do what you love and make a success of it. At the back of the the book there is a short overview of his life which includes key facts and dates and a historical timeline featuring photographs. Steve Jobs was a genius. Tragically, his life was cut short by cancer but his impact on the world is clear for all to see. Little People, Big Dreams: Steve Jobs is due to be published on 6th October 2020. Recommended for 5+. With thanks to Netgalley and Frances Lincoln Publishers for the ARC.
