Professor Astro Cat and the gang are back and this time they are up to their whiskers in water.

There is a lot of water on planet Earth and all kinds of wondrous things call the oceans and seas their home. Take a deep dive through all the different levels of the ocean; from the Sunlit zone which is home to most ocean life to the Midnight zone which is home to animals who can create their own light all the way down to the Hadal zone. The depths at the very bottom of the ocean remain the one place on Earth that are yet to be truly explored so who knows what might be lurking in the deep. This is one very deep-dive…

Readers are treated to a plethora of incredible information and facts about the oceans. Along with the all of the incredible life within the oceans there are sections on the formation of oceans, wild weather, shipwrecks, ocean legends, food chains and more. All ocean life great and small is featured. From the tiniest marine creatures, phytoplankton, to the biggest ocean beasts, blue whales. And if you fancy embarking on your own deep-sea dive then you can find out the equipment you’ll need, what you might see and how you can protect the oceans.

I learnt much and you’ll find plenty of incredible fishy facts to wow friends and family. Did you know that much of the sand on the beaches in Hawaii is made from parrotfish poop? Or that sea water has a lower freezing temperature that tap water? Or did you hear about the peacock mantis shrimp that kill their prey with the fastest punch in the animal kingdom? These are my three favourite facts that I learnt.

The pages are visually stunning and are jam-packed with colourful pictures and an abundance of information. There are fascinating facts, scientific information, questions are posed, answers are given, and readers will be left with the desire to want to know about the incredible ocean world.

This is another delightful and informative read in the Professor Astro Cat series. There’s loads to learn and readers will become experts in under-the-sea knowledge.
